Ptarmigan, the tasty state bird of Alaska


We didn't actually get to eat it, but we were told that ptarmigan is very tasty.

    Did you go to Chicken, AK? The story goes that the miners who founded it wanted to name it Ptarmigan, but they weren't sure how to spell it, so they went for Chicken, instead. :)
