Knitting Round-Up (January)

The holidays were fun and now I'm back to business. After finishing all of the kids' holiday knitting, I finally finished doll shorts when I got home:

They were originally too large, so Princess asked me to fix them. Unfortunately, "fixing" them meant frogging the entire article and reknitting, but since they were doll shorts, it only took an afternoon.

Behold, my new pair of socks! They actually kind of fade into the woodwork (pun intended), but theses are Fleece Artist BFL Sock, knit toe-up with reinforced Riverbed construction and the Baby Cable Rib from Charlene Schurch's first Sensational Knitted Socks book. I only had to knit five socks to end up with two that fit, I've got to be better about that.

This is my new project: Padded Footlets, from the Interweave Press Book "Favorite Socks." It's in Opal 4-ply. It was the only non-variegated yarn I had that didn't need to be dyed or was already attached to a project. I'm not crazy about the color, but I suppose that's why it's been marinating in my stash for so long (at least five years). I want to learn how to do the double-thickness sole and see if I can incorporate that into Cat Bordhi's Riverbed Architecture (since that's where I always get my holes, and doing heel stitch in the increases has its own problems).
