I'm sure everybody has already done this and I'm the late one to the party, but I just discovered Tomato Rice which you can make in your rice cooker! You cut the stem/core out of your tomato(es), put them open side down into the rice and water, and then you can add other things, like sliced mushrooms, green onions, garlic powder, olive oil, and herbs. In mine I was running low on groceries so I have sliced ginger with my two tomatoes, and a splash of olive oil. You can substitute with a can of diced tomatoes too, which works perfectly well.
It may be my new favorite way to cook rice--it's more moist and flavorful this way and it really makes the rice like a side dish.
